(a.d. 180-202)
Perpetua was a young woman of Carthage in North Africa
who suffered martyrdom because of her testimony of Jesus Christ.
The account of her heroic life and death became an encouragement
to many in early Christianity who also were called upon
to lay down their lives for their faith in Jesus.
